Venom: Scott Haze in Talks to Join Film in Mysterious Role

Venom's specific links to the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe have been hard to pinpoint throughout the film's development, so we will have to wait and see how faithful the potential adaptation of Lethal Protector becomes as the project comes together. Scott Haze can be seen in theaters now in Joseph Kosinski's (Tron: Legacy, Oblivion) Only the fearless alongside Josh Brolin and Miles Teller, whereas Reid Scott is best known for his comedy performances in My Boys and Veep, leading us to believe the American actor will be cast in a comedic relief role similar to that of Jenny Slate's rumored role as a scientist.

In that book's story, Spider-Man and Venom come to a truce with the condition that Venom stays out of trouble; in order to avoid running into each other, Venom leaves NY and takes up residence in San Francisco. Seeing Venom and Spider-Man agree to stop fighting one another (on the condition that Eddie Brock gives up his criminal activity), the story sees the black-clad villain move to San Francisco and fall in with a group of mole people.

OmegaUnderground cites a report that the production will shoot in San Fransisco as part of their evidence, as well as casting reports saying that the film has been looking to cast multiple mercenaries.

"Venom" is set to hit theatres on October 5, 2018.

But clearly some changes will need to be made to the story for the film adaptation.

Sony Pictures is gearing up to begin filming Venom, the first of several planned spinoffs from the Spider-Man franchise.

Ruben Fleischer, whose resume also includes credits on films such as Zombieland and Gangster Squad, is directing Venom from a script written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker.
