Jarwin signs with Dallas Cowboys

Moore has lived on the roster bubble for most of his six years in the National Football League but has been kept on rosters with the Detroit Lions and Cowboys because of the respect he receivers from coaches for his knowledge of the game.

The team announced Thursday it has parted ways with the backup quarterback.

Recently Cooper Rush had passed him on the depth chart and the team left him inactive last week.

The Cowboys also cut Moore before the season in a roster shuffle.

Moore was signed to the Cowboys' practice squad Friday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Moore was previously cut during final roster cuts in September, but when Rico Gathers went down with an injury, he was re-signed. The Cowboys reportedly promoted Jarwin because the Philadelphia Eagles were trying to sign him. He played tight end as a sophomore before the Cowboy Back position was created.

With Prescott and Rush firmly holding the top two QB spots on the depth chart, the Cowboys chose to part ways with Moore on Thursday. He's thrown four touchdowns in his career.
