The Blue Whale Challenge is a suicide game that originated in Russian Federation, asks users to complete brutal tasks over a 50-day period. The unknown game administrator would give several tasks to the player.

The final task asks the participants to commit suicide.

It also sought a direction to the government to improve "the filtering services at Indian Shores like having firewalls in each Cable landing Station or having DNS Blocking wall with brain scanner (at underground submarine optical fibre cable connecting the operators abroad) to be installed at Indian shores to prevent and filter the virtual online games which are harmful and life threatening and morally degrading".

A group of cyber experts had recently warned that a number of fictitious Blue Whale gaming apps and malware are still available on the internet which lure users to download them and in the process steal their personal information.
