PHEW! Akshay Kumar assures that 2.0 and Pad Man won’t clash on Republic Day

Padman being produced by his wife Twinkle khanna and 2.0 his much-awaited film with Rajnikanth, both rumoured to be released on the exact same day, even though it would have been very exciting to witness, two avatars of Akshay (good and bad) competing with each other but now the man himself has stepped in to clarify this ongoing clutter. One of Akshay Kumar's films is going to come to theatres for the coming Republic Day, January 2018.

Now once again Akshay Kumar has left everyone in confusion, actually it is quite hard to understand that how Akshay Kumar is not sure about the release date of his another film 2.0.

But after Lyca Productions confirmed that 2.0 is well on its way for a 25 January, 2019 release, Kumar's fans were left torn between choosing his home production Padman, in which he plays the titular character, or 2.0, in which he plays a supporting role to Rajinikanth, though reportedly not a negative role. Hence, either "Padman" or '2.0' will be coming for Republic Day. Lyca Productions creative head thrashed the postponement rumours on "2.0" that surfaced after Akshay shared a post on "Padman" release. "If they do, I will postpone Padman and if they don't, I will go ahead".

So fans of Akshay need not worry. Nevertheless, it looks like it would be "Padman" that would hit the theaters on the said date as "2.0" is said to be still under works.

Akshay Kumar's Padman is based on Arunachalam Muruganantham's initiative to create awareness about menstrual hygiene in rural India, Padman, which also stars Radhika Apte, will highlight a subject that has never been discussed in a film before! It is adapted from Khanna's short story in her second book The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad. The sci-fi film marks Akshay's debut in Tamil cinema.
