New Ford EcoSport launched in India; Check out price, features

Ford has launched the facelifted EcoSport in India at prices starting from Rs. 7.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

We have driven the 2017 EcoSport and we thought that the compact SUV boasts a whole lot of improvements and the only remaining aspect is the price. Another big change in the design is that it has new 17-inch alloy wheels and claiming to be lighter and stronger than the previous.

The EcoSport facelift gets a new layout for the dashboard which will have 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

All five subcompact SUVs are offered with diesel variants. The turn signals are placed in a new triangular enclosure along with the fog lamps and sit lower on the bumper which also features an integrated skid plate.

The refreshed EcoSport features an updated exterior as well as a new interior.

The interior of the auto is designed with a large 8-inch floating touchscreen in the top spec trim with Ford's latest SYNC 3 infotainment system. The cabin also features new seat upholstery, audio controls mounted on the three-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control and dual USB ports.

In terms of safety, the new 2017 EcoSport gets two airbags and ABS with EBD as standard across all variants. The updated EcoSport is available in 5 variants - Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+. Higher variants get additional safety features such as side and curtain airbags, speed warning, emergency brake assist (EBA), electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, hill launch assist, ISOFIX child safety seat mounting points and cruise control.

For diesel customers, it has a 1.5L TDCi diesel engine that delivers 100 PS power and fuel efficiency of 23 km/l. On the other hand, the all-new 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine develops 120 BHP of power and 150 Nm of peak torque. The 1.5 liter diesel engine will be the same as the one found on Ford Aspire and Ford Figo. In comparison, the TUV300 is available with an AMT (automated manual transmission) mated to a diesel engine.
