Causes of death released for 58 killed in Las Vegas shooting

Almost all of the fatalities were caused by a single gunshot wound, though six victims died from multiple wounds.

Among the casualties in the deadliest mass shooting in present day USA history, 21 individuals were shot in the head, 36 passed on with chest and back injuries and one kicked the bucket of a discharge to the leg, as indicated by a diagram the coroner discharged.

Stephen Paddock's death was ruled a suicide, Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg told The Associated Press. The deaths were all ruled homicides.

More than 500 people were injured during the shooting, and thousands of others who were there at the Route 91 Harvest Festival have been trying to cope in the months since the tragedy.

Rouse said it took investigators 14 days to document evidence from the Route 91 Harvest festival venue-which is about 15 acres large-and it took 13 days to document Paddock's 32nd-floor Mandalay Bay suite and hotel hallway. Six died from multiple wounds. Full autopsies were not included in the report.

Paddock's brain was sent for additional testing after his autopsy didn't find any visible abnormalities.

"[Our report] is focusing a large part on the why, OK?" he told the Review-Journal.

Metro Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation said the inconsistencies were due in law enforcement's efforts to release the information they had at the time to calm the public. "Which is what everybody wants to know", he said during the interview at the FBI's Las Vegas office.

"We're going to have, I think, the best digital schematic of what happened and where it happened and how it happened that you can come up with", Rouse told the newspaper. "So, obviously, that was starting to decline in the short period of time, and that may have had a determining effect on why he did what he did". "And it was very helpful to us".
