Tommy Wiseau's The Room Returns to US Theaters For One-Night Event

Since it was first released, writer/director/producer/star Tommy Wiseau's top contender for worst movie ever made, The Room, has slowly but surely collected an impressive cult following.

In addition to Tommy Wiseau's full-length 2003 feature, in which he starred, directed, wrote and produced, moviegoers at almost 500 theaters will see a trailer for his upcoming film "Best F (r) iends", in which he again stars with Greg Sestero. Now, the original movie is finally set for its own nationwide release.

"The Room" is coming to theaters across the nation next month. There's good news. The Ritz at the Bourse, which occasionally holds its own screenings of the cult classic, lists two midnight showings, for January 12 and February 9, on its website.

"It's really great because it's going to tackle the other areas where people aren't aware of the room still", Wiseau tells THR. I call it a free expression, that's what The Room represents.

He continues: "I've never called it a cult phenomenon, or whatever they call it". I encourage people to express themselves in the screenings.

For these seeking to see The Room and the Disaster Artist back to back, Regal Cinemas ran a one-night-only double feature in a couple of dozen locations around the country two weeks ago.

Looking to see The Disaster Artist but haven't had a chance to catch The Room on the big screen yet? One day she gets bored with Tommy and seduces his best friend, Mark (played by Wiseau's best friend, Greg Sestero, author of the award-winning 2013 memoir "The Disaster Artist"). Johnny screams, "You're tearing me apart, Lisa!"- and, with that, nothing, or no one, will ever be the same.

As The Hollywood Reporter state, The Room will hit 600 cinemas across the US from 8pm on January 10, 2018. The event includes the trailer for the upcoming film Best F (r) iends.
