"This f*cking idiot is the president" - Robert De Niro's speech in full

De Niro, who backed Democratic president candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016, slammed Trump in a 2016 video, saying, "I'd like to punch him in the face". Perhaps that's some small part of why in November, just 17 percent of New York City residents approved of the job he's doing as president.

In addition to loving on De Niro, Streep also spoke with ET's Lauren Zima about what it was like watching Oprah Winfrey's empowering speech at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards. And he's right to draw some comparisons between the Nixon era and the present.

What better way to honor Meryl Streep than to take a jab at President Donald Trump? It should be said, though, that neither Nixon nor Trump stand alone in attacking press freedoms. Given the Pentagon Papers drama's timely story of a free press threatened by a sitting president, De Niro didn't miss the opportunity to take a few digs at the current commander-in-chief.

Robert De Niro described Donald Trump as a "f*cking idiot" and "Jerkoff-in-chief" during a profane rant at last night's National Board of Review gala. This f--ing idiot is the president.

His piercing words and name-calling - which included "jerk-off-in-chief" and "f-ing tool" - came during the actor's introduction speech for Meryl Streep for her portrayal of the late Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham in The Post.

"Our government today, with the propping [up] of our baby-in-chief-the Jerkoff-in-chief, I call him-has put the press under siege, ridiculing it through, trying to discredit it though, outrageous attacks and lies", De Niro continued. "And again, just like in 1971, the press is distinguishing itself with courageous, exacting journalism..."

"The movie gave us glimpses of President Nixon as delusional, narcissistic, petty, vindictive, nasty and batshit fucking insane..." Ah the good old days.

This isn't the first time Robert's laid into the Trumpster during a high profile speech as, prior to the 2016 election, the celebrated actor called the then-Republican nominee "insane" while at the Hollywood Film Awards.

HollywoodLifers, are you shocked by Robert De Niro's speech?
