Filled with chatter about karate kicks and dance moves, the first clip of David Letterman's exclusive interview with former president Barack Obama was released Wednesday afternoon by Netflix, in advance of its Friday premiere.

Barack Obama has never been shy about dancing in public.

In the clip, Obama continues to describes what "dad moves" consist of.

Obama, whose appearance on the talk show will be his first since leaving office, went on to share the secret to his signature "dad moves".

Barack Obama: Is that one of the things you do? He said that his youngest daughter then pulled him up to join in, which surprised him "because she always mocks my dancing".

"I think the key is. what we call staying in the pocket", he tells Letterman in the video.

David Letterman: Sure. Staying in the pocket.

"They're trying stuff that they can't really pull off, and you know they start doing karate kicks and all kinds of stuff", Obama said of overeager dancers. That prompts a roar of laughter from Letterman.

The monthly talk show will see Letterman interview an impressive lineup of influential guests.

The first episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction streams Friday, January 12th on Netflix. In addition to welcoming our former commander in chief, Letterman will chat with actor George Clooney, Nobel Prize victor Malala Yousafzai, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, comedian Tina Fey, and radio personality Howard Stern.
