Turan leaves Barcelona after two-and-a-half seasons at the club

FC Barcelona confirmed on Saturday that they have reached a deal with Turkish side Basaksehir to loan them Turkish global winger Arda Turan for the remainder of this season and for two more.

Los Azulgranas agreed on a two-and-a-half-season loan for the midfielder, and maintain the right to sell the player in that period (the Turkish club are the most likely suitors) in every transfer window, as well as receiving unstated performance-based variables.

Turan appeared in 55 games with the Catalan club, scoring 15 goals.

He leaves Spain having won two league titles, three Copa del Rey trophies and a Europa League.

The club's president Goksel Gumusdag took charge of the negotiations, finally striking a deal with Barca's CEO Oscar Grau late in the week ahead of Saturday's announcement.

Arda opted to join Barca from LaLiga rivals Atletico Madrid in July 2015, but a transfer ban imposed on the club meant he did not debut until the following January.

Turkey's fourth-most capped player will also be hoping to return to his best for the national team after reversing his decision to retire from global football in August.

Turan is a household name in his home country, where his personal life is followed as closely as his exploits on the field.

Arda Turan will see out the rest of his Barcelona contract on loan at Turkish league leaders Istanbul Basaksehir.
