Reactions on Padmaavat is best response to everyone: Deepika Padukone

"I'm not someone who gets excited about the box office numbers but this time I am, because I think it will be earth- shattering", she added.

She said: "The release of "Padmaavat" is a big day for all of us". Despite threats, several state governments are trying their best to offer a smooth release to the film and the initial reviews are out with Ranveer Singh's act as Alauddin Khilji being the most impressive.

Deepika Padukone offered prayers at the popular Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai a day before the release of the film Padmaavat.

"I am very emotional at this point". On behalf of our team I want to thank entire media for being so supportive through everything that we have done and everything that we have been through. "I think now it's really time for us to celebrate and see the film do wonders at the box-office".

The actor, who plays the titular role in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed period drama, said she is overwhelmed by the response the film has received till now. I am very emotional at this point.

The film is based on 16th century poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi's epic "Padmavat".

The rumoured lovebirds caught everyone's attention with their little PDA at Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film screening on Tuesday night, walking in hand-in-hand and constantly giggling and chatting with each other, the two appeared to be happy in each other's company and relieved about the film getting released.

"Padmaavat" is releasing in India on 25th January, 2018. However, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor will certainly find the going tough, especially since protests against the film still continue to rage on in certain areas within the country.
