Dwayne Johnson and NBC Team up for The Titan Games

NBC in the USA used American Football showpiece the Superbowl to reveal a new competition show from actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and the producers of American Ninja Warrior. Following the outpouring of love we've seen for the likes of "American Ninja Warrior" and even classic British game show "Gladiators" back in the day, we imagine that the thirst for something like "The Titan Games" is still at an all-time high.

If seeing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's trailer for "Skyscraper" during the Super Bowl wasn't enough, Johnson announced he will be the host of "The Titan Games", a new unscripted show that will air on NBC.

"We wanted to create a new kind of athletic competition unlike anything ever attempted before", Johnson said. If a contender can defeat a Titan, they will take their place and battle with their fellow Titans in the finale. But once they become a Titan, they'll have to stay undefeated to remain at the top.

Variety reports that NBC has ordered 10 episodes, and Johnson will be producing alongside Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, Brian Gewirtz, and Toby Gorman.

During his appearance at the said talk show, The Rock talked about how the show was conceived, and he reiterated his excitement to create the platform for these "ordinary people" to get the extraordinary opportunities they deserve. "He added, "'The Titan Games' will challenge competitors to succeed in ways no one thought possible while entertaining the whole world at the same time".

The announcement was made by Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment and Meredith Ahr, President, Universal Television Alternative Studio.

That led him to partner with the producer of that show, A. Smith & Co., for his own series.

Dwayne Johnson had this to say for the creation of The Titan Games.
