Enjoying the perks of new-found fame, Ryan taped an interview for Ellen's Friday (09Feb18) show earlier this week, and spoke about the moment he got the snap.

"There's someone on the phone who wants to say hi to you right now", she said, at which point Timberlake took over the conversation.

Timberlake and McKenna exchanged pleasantries - talking properly for the first time. McKenna was then further overwhelmed when Timberlake presented his gift to him: The singer said he wants to properly meet McKenna, so he and his got VIP passes to the MA stop of his Man Of The Woods tour (and the National Football League also gave them a nice package of goodies that includes tickets and special access to a Patriots home game next season). Timberlake then invited McKenna and his family to come meet him backstage during his tour stop in Boston, which made McKenna tear up.

"I had my wires crossed, and it's just something that you have to look back on and go, like, 'OK, well, you know, you can't change what's happened but you can move forward and learn from it, ' " he continued.

The teen burst into tears while thanking the pop star.

Ryan became an internet sensation after he posed with Justin during the halftime show of the Superbowl and quickly focused on his phone rather than the superstar.

McKenna, a huge New England Patriots fan, told DeGeneres he was purely excited to be at the Super Bowl in general.

"I saw all the memes", McKenna said. "I couldn't believe it".

A couple minutes into McKenna and Ellen's conversation about the photo, Ellen surprised a very shocked McKenna with a phone call from Timberlake.

Ellen also told Ryan that the National Football League was giving him a VIP experience to a Patriots home game next season, plus four tickets to a game, and four pre-game field passes. But when Timberlake did show up, he pushed through the crowd to get the flawless selfie - and it paid off. "I was there with him". "The iPhone 6 - that thing's slow".

Luckily McKenna gets a second chance at a selfie soon.
