Chelsea at a crossroads, admits captain Cahill

English Premier League (EPL) club Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has said that he doesn't know how much longer injured striker Alvaro Morata will be sidelined.

Reuters picLONDON, Feb 10 ― Antonio Conte said yesterday that his Chelsea players must take their share of the blame for recent poor results but repeated his commitment to the reigning Premier League champions.

"Obviously I have to respect Chelsea, who made a huge effort to sign me and I'm very happy here", he said.

"He has this problem and we struggle a lot to find the solution to solve this problem in his back".

"We are facing a serious situation".

Conte hopes defender Andreas Christensen will be fit to face West Brom after missing the loss at Watford with a hamstring injury.

They lost 3-0 to Bournemouth before losing 4-1 to Watford.

The Italian was pushed on whether allowing backup forward Michy Batshuayi to depart Stamford Bridge on loan to Borussia Dortmund during January's transfer window was a wise move considering his more favoured teammate appears to be out for the long term. If you ask me if [he will be out] one day, one month, the rest of the season I don't know. "We realise that. If we get the right result and performance on Monday you start getting that confidence back into the team and keep building from there".

"Morata won't be ready but Giroud is training with us and will be in contention", Conte revealed during his pre-match conference ahead of next Monday's clash.

"It happened, this [that Chelsea conceded seven goals in the last two games without him]". He's in contention against West Brom.

"They understand that I am giving all myself and maybe more for this club". 'He is an important player and he is having a fantastic season'.

"Conte will not be around going into next season and, given the way they've done things in the past with interim managers towards the end of the season, I don't think he's going to see this one out".
