Palestinians seek a two-state solution "based on the 1967 borders and global resolution" with Jerusalem as a capital for the Palestinian state, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced during a joint press conference with visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also toured the Yasser Arafat Museum which contains articles associated with the life of the great leader of Palestine. "India hopes that soon Palestine will become a free country in a peaceful manner". The sides also discussed the opportunities of cooperation between the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.

President Abbas conferred the "Grand Collar of the State of Palestine" on Prime Minister Modi, recognizing his key contribution to promote ties between India and Palestine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that it is after many years that the relationship between India and the countries of the Gulf region is so strong.

India has consistently voted in favour of resolutions supporting the Palestinian cause at worldwide forums, an issue that has bothered strategic partner Israel.

The Indian Prime Minister will flag off laying of the temple's foundation stone during the community event. "The leap from 142 to 100 is unprecedented, but we are not satisfied at this, we want to do better and we will do whatever it takes to make it possible", he said.

India already supports a tech park and a diplomatic training center in Ramallah.

"A temple is an agent of peace and harmony", Modi said, according to NDTV.

Modi hailed his government's bold decisions like demonetisation and implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Today the 3.3 million Indians that reside here are represented at every level of society, from building sites to hospitals to the boardrooms of the UAE's largest companies.

Modi thanked Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on behalf of 1.25 billion Indians for the construction of the temple. Before arriving at the occupied Palestinian territories, PM Modi met Jordan's King Abdullah II in Amman. This is his second visit to United Arab Emirates, his first visit was in 2015.

India and the UAE on Saturday signed five Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi.
