Mourinho Warns Real Madrid: De Gea Is Not For Sale

Craig Bellamy says David De Gea will join Real Madrid

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with an interest in the Spanish global for a number of years, with the height of the speculation coming in the summer of 2015.

The 27-year-old has been happy to delay contract talks with the Old Trafford outfit , though Mourinho has made it clear that the club are looking to extend their Spanish star .

Real Madrid have been eyeing De Gea for years now, and they have tried to pry him away from Manchester United several times already.

"Do you think a club that is trying to attract the best players is a club that is open to sell their best players?" It makes no sense, ' said Mourinho.

Mourinho believes that his club has been able to attract top players in recent transfer windows and has no intention of letting other clubs poach their talent.

"So we don't let our best players go".

Speaking ahead of his side's Premier League encounter against Newcastle United, via Sky Sports, the Portuguese manager was quizzed on the future of the talented goalkeeper, and hit out at claims that the club could sell him to Real Madrid at the end of the season.

De Gea has developed into one of the world's top goalkeepers after initially struggling at United following an £18.9million move from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

When asked about the Spanish giants'ability to sign Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois as the next alternative if they miss on landing the Spaniard, Mourinho chose not to delve in the matter arguing that "he does not want to" speak about Courtois.

De Gea has, on average, had to make more saves with 620 compared to Courtois' 260, but overall there isn't much separating them and Los Blancos wouldn't lose much by signing the younger prospect.
