The Gunners are four points and one place adrift of their neighbours as they sit sixth heading into the north London derby.

Peter Cech is a big doubt for the Gunners with Arsene Wenger admitting he is "not sure" if the stopper will make the game after he picked up a calf injury against Everton last weekend.

The £56 million signing failed to have a single shot on Tottenham's goal and managed just 23 touches of the ball, the fewest amount of any of the 22 players who started the match, per WhoScored.

The Belgium worldwide returned to action in midweek for Tottenham's FA Cup fourth round replay clash with Newport County at Wembley, having been absent from action since November 1st, and completed the full 90 minutes.

Harry Winks, Serge Aurier and Danny Rose all returned in the FA Cup fourth-round win in midweek and are also in contention.

Arsenal 'keeper Petr Cech is out while Nacho Monreal is a doubt. Santi Cazorla (Achilles) remains a long-term absentee.

Arsenal will no doubt try to keep it tight and I really like the look of the game being a draw at half-time and Spurs nicking it by the end at 9/2. Their sojourn into the Europa League may not be a one-season wonder.

Spurs eased to a 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the last-ever north London derby at White Hart Lane back in April courtesy of goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane. He then went to Spain to join Racing Santander and his debut was away to Barcelona, the same game that Mark Hughes and Gary Lineker made their debuts for a Barca side managed by Terry Venables. "It's a very disappointing result because the priority is to be in the Champions League".

Tottenham Hotspur are not just trying to work their way back into the top four after a recent lull in form sent them tumbling out of it, they're also trying to regain some damaged pride after losing to Arsenal earlier this season.

"It will be an fantastic game and we are so excited because we know what it means to play the derby".

"It is always a game that is charged emotionally".

"Overall, when you have two or three opportunities like we had in the final part of the game, you have to take your chances".
