Meanwhile, PadMan is doing well at the domestic box-office as R Balki film has crossed 23.94 crores in two days of its release.

A risky film, no doubt, but looks the risk has paid off well.

The actor also said that he was not a part of the film for commercial reasons.

According to the trade analysts, PadMan collected Rs 10.26 crore, Rs 13.68 crore on Saturday and on Sunday earned Rs 16.11 crore. Word of mouth is strong... Friday 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr.

Pad Man is a biographical drama based on the life of the Tamil Nadu-based activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who worked towards providing cost-effective and hygienic sanitary napkins to the women in the rural areas, and features Akshay Kumar playing the lead role while Radhika Apte plays the role of his wife.

Ironically, the ban on Padman proves the film's point - it's a conversation that many are scared to have but it's the one that needs to be had.

The makers of Padman left no stone unturned to promote the film as they had come with a great idea of starting PadMan challenge (where Akshay Kumar posted a picture, posing with sanitary pads) on social media, which spread like wildfire on Twitter and Instagram.

Akshay Kumar's Padman, based on the life of social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham who introduced low-priced sanitary pads, has been banned in Pakistan.

PadMan was slated to hit theatres on January 26, but due to Padmaavat the release was postponed, Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali requested Akshay Kumar to shift PadMan release to February 9. What are your thoughts on this? Watch this space for further updates.
