Barbara Schneeweiss is named in a lawsuit involving disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein Miramax and Walt Disney Company

New York's attorney general on Sunday filed a civil rights lawsuit against disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, his brother and the Weinstein Company.

Any sale of the Weinstein company must ensure that victims would be compensated, he said.

The lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court against Weinstein and the company he co-founded presented a major obstacle to the reported $500 million deal to sell the movie studio to former Obama administration official Maria Contreras-Sweet.

In the new suit, Weinstein is accused of telling several employees, "I will kill you", "I will kill your family" and "You don't know what I can do".

Weinstein, the disgraced movie mogul, was ousted from his role at The Weinstein Company previous year after numerous reports of sexual misconduct.

The lawsuit follows a four-month investigation by Schneiderman's office that included interviews with company employees, executives and Harvey Weinstein's accusers. "One of the members of this entourage was flown from London to NY to teach HW's assistants how to dress and smell more attractive to HW". The suit alleges that the COO failed to protect the company's employees.

But when she arrived Weinstein allegedly appeared naked under a bathrobe and asked the employee for a massage.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Schneiderman says Harvey persistently sexually harassed female employees at TWC by personally creating a hostile work environment and demanding quid pro quo sexual favors for continued employment or career advancement.

Telephone and email messages seeking comment from Weinstein were not immediately returned.
