Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Set Launch Alongside Redmi Note 5 & Mi TV; Render Confirms Dual-Camera For Note 5

Xiaomi has been in the rumour mill since a while and now a fresh report suggests that the Chinese company is gearing up to launch a Redmi Note successor in India on February 14. Xiaomi is keeping the product's details under wraps, but e-commerce giant Flipkart has recently showcased a teaser hinting at the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone which is an alleged Redmi Note 5 design. This phone seems to sport somewhat thinner side bezels than the Redmi 5 Plus, at least if this render is any indication, while its display does not seem to sport rounded corners, which is a bit odd considering that both the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus do. The upcoming smartphones are expected to be either the Redmi 5 or Redmi 5 Plus, launched in China previous year, or just the Redmi 5 Plus but renamed as the for the Indian smartphone market.

Xiaomi has posted a teaser video which shows a mystery device that doesn't look like a smartphone. There are conflicting reports about the Redmi Note 5 being a new device and some reports suggest it will be a rebranded variant of Redmi 5 Plus, which was launched in China in December previous year.

Now, the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with 5.9-inch Full HD+ display. It is said to be equipped with a 16MP + 5MP rear camera. The LED flash is placed just below the camera module. This means we can't guarantee you the authenticity of this leak. As for the key feature of the smartphones, the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus sport a futuristic 18:9 ultra-wide screen aspect ratio. The handset is expected to come in two variants, one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and the other with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. On the front side, there will be an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. The phone houses a 4,000 mAh battery that the company claims to offer up to 17 days of standby time. Under the hood, the smartphone could make use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. If you are wondering about the pricing, the Redmi Note 5 will probably cost around CNY 1,499 (approximately Rs. 15,400).
