1000 students expelled for cheating in Class 12 exams in Bihar

The information was published by the BSEB on its official website, stating that the candidates attending the annual Secondary Examination "have to wear slipper in place of shoes and stocking on the exam day". Students of Bihar were asked not to wear shoes to the examination hall.

The board's idea to prevent cheating - which has been a scourge for the state - is inspired by centrally conducted examinations such as the Common Admission Test (CAT) for India's top business schools, which has banned shoes since 2016.

As per reports, almost 17.70 lakh students will appear for the class 10 board exams at 1,426 centres across the state from February 21 to 28.

"There is nothing new in this order to students appearing in Class 10 exams from February 21".

The instructions have been issued to all district education officers, candidates and parents in this regard.

A year ago too, shoes and socks were not allowed for the students at the exam centres.

The Bihar Board expelled almost 1,000 students for cheating during the Class 12 examinations, said an official here on Saturday. The system is already in practice. "The board made a decision to adopt the practice from this year", BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore said. "Exams are being held in a fair manner", state education minister told news agency ANI. We know this move would receive criticism from several quarters.

Almost 1,000 students were penalized for cheating during the Class 12 exams that concluded last Saturday.

Earlier, Bihar School Examination Board on Saturday expelled 1,000 students from Class 12 examinations.

In fact, a video of youth climbing the building of an examination hall to help their friends had become viral in 2015.
