Apple Releases iOS 11.2.6 Update To Fix Indian Language Crash Bug

Apple' software updates are called macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 Supplemental Update, watchOS 4.2.3 and tvOS 11.2.6.

Since the bug surfaced late last week, some have been inserting the offending character into their Twitter names and encouraging others to spread it in tweets.

The Cupertino-based giant has updated it's watchOS, tvOS and macOS as well to stop the crash from happening due Telugu character.

The bug centers around one character from the Teluga language, a Central-Southern Dravidian dialect spoken in India by about 70 million people.

Seeing as we've been inundated with a number of bug-related iOS updates, it's safe to say that Apple certainly hasn't been lucky when it comes to the usability of their software. Devices which received the Indian language character in one of the affected messaging apps would crash, and then continue to crash every time they were reloaded. In order to grab this update, just turn on your Apple TV, go to Settings System Software Updates.

'The situation gets worse if someone sends you the symbol and iOS tries to show it in a notification. This is a critical software update and all the iOS users are prompted to install the latest patch as soon as possible to prevent crashing of certain apps. However, the problem does not seem to occur in the latest beta version of the iOS mobile operating system, which indicates Apple is aware of the issue and is preparing to release a fix, Mobile World noted. You need to connect your device to a WiFi network to download the update and it is also recommended to take a backup of your data before you begin.

The bug was discovered last week and involves sending the character in Telugu to devices that crashes an iPhone and makes apps like Messages, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp inaccessible.
