Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 Coming to Switch This Summer

The game was announced for the Switch and, to complete the circle, all of the previous Mega Man titles were announced as part of various collections that would be coming to the Switch as well.

Next up, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 introduces us to the Blue Bomber's 16-bit outings, kicking off with the SNES classic Mega Man 7 and taking us through to the retro revival years with Mega Man 9 and 10. You'll also be able to unlock a range of new challenges designed by Mega Man fans - which used to only be available on the 3DS - with a Mega Man amiibo. Capcom confirmed today that Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 will be arriving on the platform in just a couple of months, but you'll want to make sure you have a memory card ready because 40% of the collection is going to be digital only. In an industry where launch delays are frustratingly too common, Capcom is keeping its promise, with the two collections to launch on the hybrid console on May 22.

What's better than one Mega Man game? According to the Capcom-Unity blog: "Series veterans know that Mega Man is all about the heat of the moment-to-moment gameplay, though".

There must be a ton of artwork to justify it not all fitting on one cartridge, the games will also be available separately from the eShop. Individually, they'll set you back $14.99 and $19.99 digitally for Collection 1 and 2, respectively. The retail version is available to preorder now and comes with a Mega Man 30th Anniversary cleaning cloth. The ESRB further supports this claim by stating that "This is a collection of ten games from the Mega Man universe".
