Liverpool eyeing move for unsettled Real Madrid youngster in the summer

As per a report from Calciomercato.com this morning, Liverpool will need to fend off interest from a pair of Serie A clubs to secure a deal for Real Madrid youngster Dani Ceballos.

The former Real Betis man joined the Bernabeu outfit past year but has struggled for game-time this season.

Kovacic joined Los Blancos from Inter Milan in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be in the region of £25.6 million, and has gone on to make 93 appearances for Zinedine Zidane's side - no small feat considering the depth of quality in midfield that the Frenchman has at his disposal.

Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is claiming that the 21-year-old midfielder now wants to move to Anfield in the summer transfer window after being denied a switch in January.

Ceballos' arrival could help cover the possible departure of Emre Can from Liverpool as he looks set to leave the club for pastures new when his contract expires this summer. Reports this week suggest that they did have their eye on a player who was also keen on the move.

Ceballos has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at Real Madrid this season, with the Spanish defensive midfielder having only started two La Liga games for them so far this term, scoring two goals.

"It would have been of benefit for us to have Ceballos on loan for a season".

"I'm sure he is happy in Madrid, it is one of the best clubs in the world who compete for a lot of trophies, so this is natural".

Ceballos could offer Klopp a more creative asset with the ball at his feet, perhaps closer to what Coutinho once brought to the team.

Do you think Ceballos would be a good signing for Liverpool?
