It has been nearly six months since the announcement that the parody series of Teen Titans called Teen Titans Go! will have an animated feature-length film based on the show be released. He was supposed to play the Man of Steel in Tim Burton's "Superman Lives" movie before that fell apart in the late 1990s. Not to mention the dude is now in his mid-50s, making it impossible for him to play a live action Superman despite it actually being a legitimate possibility once upon a time.

Cage's enthusiasm for the granddaddy of all comic-book superheroes is well known.

That's one of the reasons why the movie coming from the animated series has its plot based around Robin, Cyborg, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Raven trying to figure out how come they haven't had a feature film adaptation when every other hero under the sun seems to have gotten one. Appearing alongside regular cast members Scott Menville, Hynden Walch, Khary Payton, Tara Strong, and Greg Cipes, he'll be joined in the Justice League by Halsey as Wonder Woman and Lil Yachty as Green Lantern. That ultimately never made it to the big screen, but he'll finally have the chance to suit up in animation (via USA Today). Adding Cage to the cast as Superman, however, is a masterstroke. The development and cancellation of the infamous project was chronicled in the documentary The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? in 2015. If only they could get the hottest Hollywood film director to notice them.

Teen Titans GO! has done well for a revamped version of the Teen Titans original show many fans were devastated to see, well, go, and has quickly become such a success a movie has been given the green light. But when the group is radically misdirected by a serious super villain and his maniacal plan to take over the Earth, things really go awry. "The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line".
