Ngata won't have to play a heavy snap count in Philadelphia, so if he can play at (or near) that level of production, he'll be a valuable defensive line piece.

Like their other recent acquisition, defensive tackle Michael Bennett, Nagota has a Super Bowl ring, winning his with the Baltimore Ravens in the 2012 season.

Good luck, National Football League offensive lines.

Ngata just turned 34 years old and is coming off a season in which he played in just five games for the Detroit Lions before needing surgery to fix a torn bicep.

According to Adam Schefter, the Eagles will sign former Lions' defensive tackle Haloti Ngata to a one-year deal.

He was a large part of Detroit's run defense the past three years and served as a mentor to younger defensive linemen, including A'Shawn Robinson and Akeem Spence.

Ngata will likely take the snaps of free agent Beau Allen backing up star tackles Timmy Jernigan and Fletcher Cox along the interior of the Eagles line. "I want to be able to raise my kids and be able to play with them when they are older and still be able to beat them in wrestling matches and stuff when they are teenagers", Ngata said in 2017.

He's been selected to five Pro Bowls and was a first-team All-Pro twice. He has 29.5 career sacks and 6.0 career forced fumbles.
