Do you hear that? Note you'll still need to talk to your Google Home device-not the connected Bluetooth speakers-for queries like asking questions, getting weather updates and using smart home commands. Is this a feature you're going to take advantage of? Turn up the beats in the living room, listen to a podcast while you cook or finish a few chapters of your audiobook before bed-even in rooms that don't have a Google device.

The trick here is that Google Home devices are just using Bluetooth to funnel music from its connected streaming services to the Bluetooth speaker.

A Google Home smart speaker can now be paired with a Bluetooth speaker that wasn't made by Google, and a Bluetooth speaker can be paired with a group of Google Home speakers.

Using the Google Home app, users can now pair their Home speaker with any Bluetooth speaker and then use Assistant to control music playback on the Bluetooth speakers as well.

However, all things considered, this is a huge boost for Home owners with additional Bluetooth speakers.

The feature is part of a new software update that brings Bluetooth connectivity and control to the Google Home family of devices - i.e. the Google Home, Google Home Mini and the Google Home Max. It's the sound of your Bluetooth speakers playing the song you requested-across every room in your house. To connect a Bluetooth speaker, open the Google Home app and tap the Devices icon in the top right hand corner and choose the Home speaker you want to connect.

So, when can you get your multi-room Google house party underway?
