Google demonstrates its new AI model using a series of videos including one of two stand-up comedians talking loudly at the same time (which you can watch below), and its effectiveness is startling.

A Google spokesperson has provided the following statement (emphasis included): "We're working on some major updates to Gmail (they're still in draft phase)".

United States tech giants see Africa as a relatively untapped market for smartphones and services such as web search and social media. A new snooze feature also lets you temporarily remove emails from your inbox until a certain time, so you can avoid certain email threads until you're ready to reply. This means, like Google Inbox, there will be a "snooze" feature on Gmail after the new design has been rolled out. Furthermore, it will have much better integrations with Google's other services like a sidebar for appointments, Google Tasks, and more. The new look for Gmail will also come with several new features, but there were no screenshots on what exactly Google will change with the email service's design.

Furthermore, the company is likely to bring the option of algorithmically-generated smart replies, which is available on Gmail for iOS and Android, on the web version as well.

Google is hoping the update will give a "fresh, clean look for Gmail on the web" - although it has revealed very few details.

If you take a photo of a dog or cat that's not yours and you want to know what breed it is, you can use the Google Lens preview from within the Photos app. Many people do have a Gmail account at this point in time, but for emails between business, for example, the new Gmail design may not mesh well with existing infrastructure.

Cat and dog recognition is just a small part of what Google has planned for Lens.

Google is releasing an app in Africa that will help internet users overcome obstacles such as the lack of high-speed connectivity and the cost of data on the continent.

While we still don't have a launch date, the new Gmail is expected to make its first official appearance at the company's annual developer conference next month on 8th.
