Apple in a lengthy memo posted to its internal blog said it ‘caught 29 leakers,’ last year and 12 of them were arrested

"The memo conflates "leaking" -which is likely a violation of Apple's corporate confidentiality agreement but not criminal - with serious criminal wrongdoing such as stealing trade secrets for a competitor, or hacking into Apple's property computer systems", said Braunig.

The memo, which was posted to an internal Apple message board, stated that the company had caught twenty nine leakers a year ago and twelve of them were arrested. Hundreds of software engineers were in attendance, and thousands more within the organization received details of its proceedings. Daryanani still believes that the sales of the iPhone X will still continue to be a failure for the company and the suppliers since the current production for the new iPhones is expected to reach ~80-90M units for this year's second half calendar.

Based on historical data and also from their sources who are former Apple employees, the note from the analysts to investors reads, "once Apple establishes a price band it typically keeps it, consistent with what we've heard from former Apple employees". A scoop about an unreleased Apple product can generate massive traffic for a publication and financially benefit the blogger or reporter who broke it. The company declined to comment on Friday.

Apple, Inc. fired 29 internal people the previous year for leaking information about company's upcoming projects. In 2012 Apple CEO Tim Cook said that Apple will double down the secrecy on the product, but it doesn't seem like.

Those affected are said to be restricted to phones whose screens were fixed by companies outside the authorised Apple channels. Apple's Global Security team employs investigators who have previously worked in the USA military, US intelligence agencies like the National Security Agency, and law enforcement agencies like the Secret Service and the F.B.I.

One person was caught after sharing "a link to the gold master of iOS 11" with the press ahead of Apple's September iPhone X event, the memo indicates.

Apple had previously denied any plans around possibly killing its service but, as of last month that changed. The memo highlighted that 12 of those leakers are arrested which determines to be the most stringent action taken in light of privacy breach. These people not only lose their jobs, they can face extreme difficulty finding employment elsewhere. In addition, leaks are competitors to create the best product.
