Heavy rain began falling about two hours before the scheduled 4:10 p.m. first pitch, and the game was called at 5:28 p.m.

The news came just minutes after the Indians-Blue Jays game was postponed.

Saturday's game between the clubs was also postponed and both games will be made up as part of a doubleheader on May 3, which had been a scheduled off-day for both teams.

Greg Allen could join the Cleveland Indians when they head to Puerto Rico this week to face the Minnesota Twins. The reigning AL Cy Young victor struck out 13 and allowed two hits in eight innings for his first win of the season against Detroit on April 9.

The Blue Jays return to Toronto for a three-game set against the Kansas City Royals. He is now hitting.200 for the Clippers with three doubles and an RBI as well as four stolen bases. Third baseman Jose Ramirez, after finishing third in last season's AL MVP voting, is batting.160 while designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion is hitting.146 and had a 0-for-21 slump during the homestand. It's the second straight day the Blue Jays and Indians were washed out by Mother Nature.

Corey Kluber (1-1) had been scheduled to start for Cleveland on Sunday.
