Gold Coast: Indian boxing legend MC Mary Kom, who claimed a gold medal on debut at the Commonwealth Games, will be India's flag-bearer at the event's closing ceremony on Sunday.

Sam Ward's goalscoring exploits were again decisive as he scored both of the goals for Bobby Crutchley's side, but it was very much a team performance to secure consecutive bronze Commonwealth medals for England's men.

This could be Mary Kom's first and last appearance at the Commonwealth Games.

After several attempts, India's first breakthrough, however, came in the 26th minute when Mandeep Singh and Lalit Upadhyay worked in tandem to win the team's only penalty corner of the match. Sumit won all his four bouts in the Nordic (round robin) format to emerge champion. Hosking held off several challenges over the past 200 metres from eventual silver medal victor Georgia Williams of New Zealand and Wales rider Danielle Rowe, who took bronze. The Indian duo was outplayed 0-3 (5-11, 4-11, 5-11) by Feng Tianwei and Yu Mengyu of Singapore in the gold medal clash.

Vikas Krishan Yadav became the third Indian boxer to win a gold medal at the Gold Coast games as he beat Cameroon's Wilfried Dieudonne by a 5-0 unanimous decision in the final of the men's 75kg event on Saturday.

"Today I'm dedicating my medal to my mum, but I want to represent India at the (Tokyo) 2020 Olympics and to be there when they raise the Indian flag", the 22-year-old said looking ahead. Mary was in no way bothered or so it seemed as she waited for O'Hara to open up before launching swift counters. "My father and mother have helped me the most so this gold medal is for them", Vikas said.
