Federation Internationale de Football Association says interest in expanded Club World Cup

Italy claimed a late draw against England thanks to VAR

FAZ will hold an extraordinary council meeting after FIFA has carried out a forensic audit of Football House.

The VAR system has been trialled worldwide but its use in England has led to mixed reactions from players, managers and supporters, with those inside stadiums complaining of being in the dark while decisions are made.

The FIFA president has called the proposal a "very interesting idea" and promised to look into it.

"Will there still be mistakes?" Absolutely. Unavoidable ones. An important component of football refereeing is subjective, and for that we will always have to count on human judgment, which is fallible by nature - even more so when under enormous pressure.

"We have to study it seriously and if it is possible, why not?"

"And, yes, we will be ready for controversy".

"I believe that they will keep improving because we are close to the World Cup and they have learnt from the two games played recently".

The Super Eagles, who defeated Poland 1-0 and lost 2-0 to Serbia in the build-up games in March, moved up five places from 52nd to the 47th position in the latest Federation Internationale de Football Association world ranking released on Thursday.

"For two years we have been talking about a Club World Cup with 24 teams, more inclusive and with more respect for the global calendar, with fewer games", Infantino told reporters at the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) annual conference.

"Most of the referees have never worked this system".

"I don't feel comfortable, definitely not, and spectators don't feel comfortable".

"You can not deny one of the candidates [the opportunity] to go to Congress". Like I said earlier, the remaining friendly matches will be different from those they have played.
