Manchester City Clinch 3rd EPL Title in 7 Years

Manchester United gifted the Premier League title to fierce rival Manchester City in improbable fashion by losing 1-0 to last-place West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

A 73rd-minute header from Jay Rodriguez after United had failed to defend a corner won the game for relegation-threatened West Brom and Mourinho said his team had not played the simple football he expects.

Over £12m was traded on the 2017/18 Premier League Winner market, but with City effectively running away with the title - eventually winning it with five games remaining - no team other then the winners traded at odds-on, or even notably shorter than their pre-season odds.

Fast-forward to Sunday April 15, 2018 and Guardiola's City side has achieved a domestic double, adding the Premier League to the League Cup they won in February.

I win titles. My last Premier League title was not 20 years ago, it was three years ago.

And there was controversy after the game when City and United players clashed in the changing rooms which led to a now infamous tunnel melee. That's Liverpooling more than Liverpool have ever Liverpooled this season. Everything was slow. Everyone was one more touch, one more trick, one more flick, one more turn.

Pogba, 25, has had a stop-start season at Old Trafford which was marred by a reported fallout with Mourinho, but any ill feeling appears to be behind the pair. We are a team that in the last three matches [against] Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, has won all of them.

"They were the right ones and the ones we believed in, I'm sure there are differences to how we play today compared to Bayern (Munich) and Barcelona, we survive and live by the strength of the team".

Pogba was substituted after 57 minutes of United's defeat and Mourinho did not make any attempt to hide his unhappiness with the team's performance and the inconsistency of his most expensive player. "We have spent a lot of money to have these fantastic players, to make that possible".

Jose Mourinho only mentioned that he'd won eight championships and three Premier League titles six times in his post-match press conference.

"I think we were deservedly punished because we were masters in complication". You don't win titles with inconsistency. If you were a fan you would have been expecting far more.

"This is not a dynasty, it is one title we've won".
