The National Weather Service reports the possible tornado occurred about 8:13 a.m.in the area of Industriplex Boulevard and Airline Highway in Baton Rouge.

Severe Weather Awareness Week continues on Thursday with a tornado drill.

Sunday night, the low will be around 27, with a northwest wind of 9 to 15 miles per hour, gusting as high as 23 miles per hour, according to the weather service.

The area will experience showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m.

Rainfall was expected to begin late Sunday and become heavier throughout the night, according to Joe Pollina, meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Upton. A frontal system generated two lines of storm activity, with one dropping quarter-size hail near Eureka and a 71-mph wind gust at the Eureka Airport.

An East Feliciana Parish emergency manager reported a dozen trees were downed in Clinton, and a few rural roads were blocked, the resullt of thunderstorm wind damage at 7:40 a.m.

In the event of a tornado warning, which indicates a tornado has been sighted or indicated on radar, Duke officials will send a text and email notification to students, faculty and staff.

The watch will be issued at 1:00 pm and the warnings will be issued at 1:45 pm.

A tornado watch is in effect until midnight for much of the Richmond metro. Flooding is listed as a lesser threat, with the exception of localized flooding from periods of heavy rain. The risk for tornadoes is higher southwest of Richmond. Forecasters said they expect to be able to narrow the time line today.
