Universal Pictures has announced that they will wide release the forthcoming untitled Danny Boyle musical comedy on Friday, September 13, 2019.

Universal Studios has set a September 13, 2019, release date for its untitled comedy with director Danny Boyle and stars Kate McKinnon, Lily James, and Himesh Patel.

The singer also made a cameo in his favourite TV show "Game Of Thrones", with a fleeting appearance in the first episode of the hit HBO series' seventh season in July previous year.

As well as featuring musical material from The Beatles' vast catalogue of hits, new music will also be written for the film which Sheeran is also said to be involved with.

"Everything Ed touches turns to gold", an unnamed source close to production company Working Title told the tabloid newspaper.

The cast for the movie thus far includes Lily James and Himesh Patel. Sheeran also has experience contributing music to movies, writing and performing the original song "I See Fire" from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Back in 2014, Ed performed a Grammy's tribute to mark the band's 50th anniversary of their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.

It's not even clear if he would be the character who wakes up remembering Beatles songs, or if he'd just appear in the movie and someone else would have that role.

His rendition of the foursome's track In My Life was so impressive that The Beatles" Paul McCartney sent Sheeran a signed guitar saying: "For Ed, who is brilliant'.
