Jose Mourinho has revealed his fear that Manchester City will launch a spending spree in the summer to blow their rivals out of title contention for years to come.

"Yeah tomorrow I have golf game".

"Our Time. Our City". City's other two Premier League triumphs, in 2012 and '14, were sealed on the final day.

More importantly, though, it means Pep Guardiola's City team can not now be caught at the top of the table, thus handing the Catalan coach his first Premier League crown in just his second year in English football.

Mourinho acknowledged that "City were the best team" in the Premier League, telling the BBC: "Sooner or later they would get the points, so no dramas when the best team wins the league".

Manchester United have 71 points, which is already the most the Red Devils have managed across a single season since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Following the win, West Brom occupy the last league spot with 24 points and are set to face Mohamed Salah's Liverpool on the 21st of April.

"Unbelievable season for us", said midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, perhaps City's standout player over the past eight months.

"We couldn't play fast, we couldn't think fast, everything was complicated". There was no fluidity.

"Last season we finished sixth and this season we are going to finish I believe fourth, third or second - hopefully second - and next season we are going to try and improve but let's see what happens".

"But I just hope they find the key to success for the Premier League". The 20-year-old is rated at £20million and is also reported to be wanted by Porto. So, if you ask me, I'm expecting Paul now to be man of the match every week? No.

Lukaku enjoyed a prolific loan spell at The Hawthorns in the 2012/13 season, netting 17 goals in 35 league appearances. You don't win titles with inconsistency.
