Manchester City won the Premier League as their rivals Manchester United were beaten 1-0 at home by West Bromwich Albion. My job is not to stop Manchester City to win a title they already won. Speaking after the 1-0 defeat to West Brom at Old Trafford, Mata insisted the team will fight to progress past Tottenham Hotspur in the Emirates FA Cup semi-final next weekend.

The hosts threw everything at West Brom in the closing stages, but were unable to find a breakthrough that would have delayed City's title confirmation until at least Wednesday when United take on Bournemouth.

United had a shout for a penalty on 19 minutes after Ander Herrera was brought down only for the referee to wave play on.

It wasn't meant to go like this for Manchester United this season.

However, Premier League survival still looks unlikely for the Baggies, who are nine points adrift of 17th-placed Swansea with four matches remaining.

Mourinho said his players were "masters in complicated football".

He said: "We've got faith in one another, the players, the staff. Things have gone a bit by the wayside this year".

"This is a game you always look forward to at Old Trafford, it is the biggest club in the world, to score here is incredible and the buzz I feel for how hard we've worked is awesome to me".

After sacking Alan Pardew at the start of the month, Darren Moore has been handed the West Brom until the end of the season. It is even more important for the next games and we know we have to compete until the last week.

Mourinho also admitted his doubts over Pogba after the match: 'Paul had a yellow card and had a situation where he may have had another booking. In fact, no team other than Manchester United and Chelsea have been able to defend a title in the Premier League era.

"It is the number of points they have won".

Guardiola had planned a day of golf with his son Marius on Sunday, so the Spaniard might have learned of his first Premier League while on the course.

Most of the people inside Old Trafford thought they had made the breakthrough in the 67th minute, when Lukaku climbed higher than Gibbs at the back post - just like he did at The Hawthorns - and powered a forceful downwards header towards goal. It was a slow game and we didn't play well at all. I wouldn't be happy if someone says that I won the title because somebody loses a match.
