NBA Playgrounds 2 Hits the Hardwood This Summer

NBA Playgrounds 2 will be released sometime this year for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch

They're promising fans the game will be "essentially everything you asked for".

One of the first things we wanted to do with the sequel was to expand online play. You'll always know exactly where you stack up against other Playgrounds 2 players online and see yourself progress as you acquire skills. There will be competitive solo and co-op division ladders in this mode so, if you're not a team player, you're covered. There will be new courts, a season mode, ranked championship leagues, four-person online multiplayer, three-point contests, custom matches, new moves and power-ups, improved AI (hopefully no more pass-happy opponents), and more than 200 current and former National Basketball Association players at launch. Additionally, the game will include dedicated severs and four-player online games. Season mode is a new single-player experience that recreates the feeling of leading a team through the regular season, playoffs, and, ultimately, the NBA Championship itself. "We know lag was a problem in the first game for some and this should address the concern".

Also featuring new power-ups, moves, improved AI, new player models and animations, NBA Playgrounds 2 will be stepping onto the hardwood in summer 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Ben Simmons, Lonzo Ball, Russell Westbrook and John Wall each get a slow-motion moment to shine.

The trailer is a pure cinematic. Per PlayStation Blog, NBA Playgrounds 2 will improve upon the first game in a variety of ways. We aren't getting any looks at gameplay yet.
