Eric Kendricks is getting a fat payday from the Vikings.

While the Vikings did not disclose terms of the deal, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that the pact is worth $50 million over five years with $25 million guaranteed.

Kendricks, the Vikings' second-round pick in 2015, posted 113 combined tackles last season, with a sack and one interception (which he returned 31 yards for a touchdown). Wide receiver Stefon Diggs, linebacker Anthony Barr and defensive end Danielle Hunter are scheduled to become free agents after the season and may also be in line for extensions before the regular season begins. The two are part of a defense that was ranked No. 1 in the National Football League last season. The Vikings announced the deal on the first day of offseason workouts.

With one 2019 free agent locked up a year early, the Vikings may turn their attention to other players.

Kendricks salary cap figure will likely have to go up in 2018 as the Vikings could look to layer a signing bonus on top of his new base salary and/or give the star linebacker a roster bonus which is payable several days after inking his new deal.

Coming off the most successful season in eight years, the Minnesota Vikings have worked toward solidifying their roster to continue their uprising to the top of the league.
