Here's how Princess Charlotte made history after birth of baby brother

The cameras nearly missed the adorable moment - but eagle-eyed fans picked up on it as the doors to the private wing at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, where Kate gave birth, came to a close. The adorable toddler was accompanied by his nanny, Barbara Barnes, at that time.

After the all-important meet-and-greet with his brother and sister, it was time for the newborn prince to meet the world.

While Prince George couldn't be bothered, the nearly 3-year-old princess put on her best Gracie Lou Freebush and excitedly waved to the crowds as if they'd been waiting all day for her arrival.

At yesterday's ANZAC Day service, Prince William let slip a clue about the new Prince's moniker, revealing it's "a strong name".

George, dressed in blue shorts, a white collared shirt, a blue pullover, long blue socks and black bar shoes, was given a reassuring a kiss on the forehead by the duke.

Princess Charlotte is the first royal not ruled out by gender. "The turn back and wave to the cameras as they entered the Lindo Wing was EVERYTHING", tweeted one person.

The princess, who will celebrate her third birthday on May 2, wore a £45 Periwinkle dress from Little Alice London, a label owned by Alice Avenel, a friend of Kate's from their time at Marlborough College. The two-year-old princess was wearing an all-blue ensemble.

Holding on tight to his fathers hand, Prince George was a little more reserved than his sister. On her website, the dress is priced at £40 for babies aged six months and goes up to £45 for children aged up to six years old.

But unlike Prince George, Princess Charlotte and their younger brother were photographed leaving the hospital with a bonnet over their heads.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte visited their mom and younger brother at the hospital on Monday, April 23.

Kensington Palace announced around 8:30am this morning that Her Royal Highness had been admitted to hospital with the Duke of Cambridge at her side.
