If you're not seeing the OS update on your Galaxy S7, keep checking back over the next few weeks. As the South Korean giant is now rolling out Android Oreo 8.0 Update for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge in Europe. To rub salt into the wounds of those customers, S7 and S7 edge units in the United Kingdom are now actually receiving the Oreo update. It reportedly brings firmware version G930FXXU2ERD5 for the Galaxy S7 and G935FXXU2ERD5 for the Galaxy S7 Edge.

With the Oreo, Samsung has also updated the security patch level of the devices to 1st April.

The company is also showing some love to those who won't be receiving Android Oreo, among them the Galaxy J7 2015, Galaxy J7 Prime, and Galaxy Tab S2.

All of the new features that are part and parcel of Android 8.0 Oreo are included in this release. You can check its availability on your device by going to Settings Software updates. Android Oreo has other features like including Background limits, installation of apps via APK, over 60 new emojis, notification dots, Wide-gamut colour for apps, Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, WebView enhancements and much more.
