As far as what caused the money to fall, Perrine said the back doors to the Brinks truck swung open as the vehicle traveled on the interstate.

Perrine says they are searching for anyone who stopped to pick up the cash; they can be charged with theft. The Brinks truck driver had no idea what was going on, until someone in a auto waved at him to let him know that his door was open.

Fox 59 reports the truck likely lost $600,000 total in money bags, money bundles and loose bills. The police are also using surveillance footage to find people who took money.

Anyone with sticky fingers can return the dough, no questions asked.

Police officers blocked traffic so that collection efforts could be made, but an undisclosed amount of money remains missing.

Authorities said they are looking for the school bus driver who stopped to grab cash before driving away from the scene. They are also now looking for just four individuals in a pickup truck, pulling a utility trailer, that made off with a few of those luggage of money. Police do not know whether the incident was the result of mechanical or human error.

"Pictures of money Ended up falling out of their back onto the interstate", Explained ISP Corporal Brock McCooe. Money may also be returned to the Indiana State Police Post at 8660 East 21st Street any time of day or night.

ISP said in a Wednesday night news release that they're increasing patrols in the area where money fell from the truck and are tracking down potential leads to find people who may have taken money from the scene.
