ABC15 Arizona has released footage of the collision's aftermath, which shows the Waymo vehicle, a Chrysler minivan, nearby a Honda sedan that's had its front end demolished.

Police said the minivan was in autonomous driving mode at the time of the accident and the vehicle had a safety driver who received minor injuries. Supposedly, what followed was that the driver of the eastbound vehicle swerved into the opposite lane to avoid a collision with another auto and consequently hit the Waymo van.

A Waymo vehicle in autonomous mode was struck by another driver during what appeared to be a head-on collision in Chandler. "Both the Waymo Vehicle and the Honda were towed from the scene. The accident is under investigation".

Chandler Police told PCMag that the crash occurred when the Honda sedan was traveling eastbound, but had to swerve to avoid striking another vehicle heading northbound. The Waymo operator sustained only minor injuries, according to reports.

The Police also reported that the Honda city was traveling eastbound on Boulevard where the drivers swerved into the Wymo minivan to avoid intersection with another vehicle on Friday. Tyler went on to say the "The Waymo vehicle was rolling, but I don't think it was going very fast". It previously announced its plans to test some of its vehicles in the State of Arizona without safety drivers onboard.

This is the second known self-driving auto crash in the Phoenix area in the past two months.

In February, Uber settled a lawsuit with Alphabet, the parent company of Waymo (and Google) over the alleged theft of self-driving vehicle intellectual property.

Google faces a huge criticism after its autonomous vehicle crashes into a Honda city in Chandler, Arizona.

So far, Waymo hasn't commented on the crash.
