Saudi Arabia Says It Will Build Nuclear Bomb if Iran Does

Saudi Arabia ready to support oil market after US pullout from Iran deal

"Iran's exports of oil to Asia and Europe will nearly certainly decline later this year and into 2019 as some nations seek alternatives in order to avoid trouble with Washington and as sanctions start to bite".

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation called on the international community and the other states that are party to the agreement, to support Trump's stand for making the Middle East a zone free of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction, in order to maintain global security and stability.

Jubeir was echoing comments by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, who said during a visit to the USA in March that Riyadh will be quick to develop nuclear bombs if Iran does so.

Speaking earlier on Wednesday, Jubeir told CNN that Saudi Arabia will seek to pursue nuclear weapons if Iran restarts its programme.

It says Saudi Arabia will work with major producers to reduce the effects of any supply shortages.

Praising the USA for abandoning the Iran nuclear deal, the Saudi foreign minister has threatened that the kingdom will make nuclear bombs if the Islamic Republic moves to develop an atomic weapons program.

"Following the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran deal, I would like to confirm our commitment to oil market stability for the benefit of producers and consumers", Falih said in a tweet.

The Arab League called on Wednesday for the Iran nuclear deal to be revised, echoing comments from President Donald Trump just a day after he pulled the United States out of the historic accord.

The U.S., which is one of the kingdom's most important military suppliers, has backed the coalition with logistical support. "We need to assess first the impact if there is any, in terms of disruption, in terms of a reduction of Iran's production", the OPEC source said. But Saudi Arabia has enough oil production capacity - now at 12 million barrels per day (bpd) - to maintain oil market stability, the source added. The two countries have long had tense relations - one of them Sunni (Saudi Arabia) and the other Shiite (Iran), they have lead proxy wars, backing opposing sides in Iraq and Syria. The least likely outcome is that Asian countries co-operate fully with the USA in its renewed conflict with Iran.

According to the same fact-checking website, although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a trove of documents, they did not add any new information - much of what he had offered was not news for the worldwide community.

"He is supporting us not because we are Saudi Arabia or because we have oil, but because he thinks we are right", said Mohammed, another Saudi businessman.

"The IAEA is closely following developments", Amano said.
