Lalu Prasad, who was serving in jail after being convicted in multiple Fodder scam cases have been granted 3-days bail to attend his son's wedding and later secured 6-weeks parole on health grounds.

The gala event in Patna will see imported flowers from Thailand being used to decorate the stage while the main entrance to the venue will be decorated with Bihar's Mithila painting.

Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan, who was also present on the occasion, was also heartily welcomed by Mr Prasad and his wife and former chief minister Rabri Devi. However, among senior BJP leaders, only Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi is expected to attend.

He exchanged pleasantries with Prasad and later sat on the dais flanked by the RJD chief and Rabri Devi.

The couple will tie the knot on 12 May at Veterinary College ground in Patna. Yadav's younger son and Bihar Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav sat between his mother and Kumar for some time and had a few words.

The RJD chief has been serving jail terms here at the Birsa Munda Central Jail since December 23 past year after his convictions in three different fodder scam cases. "Lalu took rest in the morning and did attend some rituals in the day", said, a close aide of the family. His application for parole is being considered and a final decision is likely by Thursday, Inspector General (Prison) Harsh Mangla told PTI on Wednesday. "Tumhare paair padte hin mere ghar mein sab kuch accha hone laga hai (You are very auspicious and lucky as everything has started falling in line with your entry into our family)".

69-year-old Lalu Prasad, who has been convicted in three cases of fodder scam, is now undergoing treatment in Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).

Aishwarya Rai is the granddaughter of former Bihar CM Daroga Prasad Rai.
