'BlacKkKlansman' Trailer Brings Humor to a Surprising Subject

The first trailer has been released for Spike Lee's upcoming BlacKkKlansman, formerly known as Black Klansman, now also known as Hey, How Do You Capitalize the New Spike Lee Joint? Stallworth is so good playing white, he ultimately winds up becoming the head of the chapter. "As much as BlacKkKlansman plays with the mechanics of blaxploitation fantasy, it doesn't leave one with any question about what's real".

The film is produced by Jason Blum's Blumhouse and Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw, the team behind the Oscar-winning thriller Get Out. "So, I was immediately obsessed with this story". The first BlacKkKlansman trailer dropped and it seems like law enforcement got the drop on David Duke's Ku Klux Klan.

"With the right white man, we can do anything", Stallworth declares. Keep an eye out for Lee's new film arriving in USA theaters this August 10th. It was among the most highly anticipated titles at Cannes this year and immediate reaction was positive. The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw tweeted that it "lights up like a pinball machine" while Indiewire's David Ehrlich said it was "a wildly uneven but righteous fuck you to Trump".

The audience broke out in applause a half-dozen times during the film's Monday night premiere, followed by four minutes of applause during the credits and a six-minute standing ovation.

Both BlacKkKlansman and Pope Francis will be released by Focus Features, the former on August 10, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of the deadly Charlottesville riots.
