Villa secured a tense 0-0 draw with Boro on Tuesday night to go through to the playoff final at Wembley.

They came fourth in the Sky Bet Championship this season and Bruce, who was appointed in October 2016 with Villa 19th, knows it has been a long slog. If we bring our A-game to Villa Park and we get the breaks and we get the run of the ball - which I don't think we did have on Saturday - then who knows?

"The game plan was superb so the manager deserves a lot of credit for that", said Villa captain John Terry.
