Microsoft Reveals Gears of War 5 And Two Side Games

Today Xbox is hosting its E3 2018 press briefing from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and we got the reveal of the new chapter of the Gears of War franchise, titled Gears 5.

Gears Tactics is now in pre-alpha and looks like a Gears of War take on the turn-based strategy gameplay of the recent XCOM games. Yes, the highly popular and collectible Funko Pop toy franchise is branching out into games.

Perhaps the most weird news to come out of the event, however, was the announcement of Gears Pop! We don't know very much about this new title, called Gears Pop, but we know that it's a mobile games and that the characters will all be modeled after Funko Pop vinyl figures.

During their time on stage at E3, The Coalition took the stage to announce Gears of War 5 as well as a mobile spin-off and a "Gears Tactics" turn-based strategy based game, as well.

Gears of War 5 was one of the games listed in a Walmart Canada leak back in May, alongside other games like Hitman 2, Just Cause 4, Rage 2, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey which have since also turned out to be real. A release date was not announced.
