Liverpool make decision over Alisson transfer as Real Madrid prepare move

Liverpool FC appear to have suffered a fresh blow in their pursuit of goalkeeper Alisson Becker after it was claimed that he is happy at AS Roma.

'To be honest, I left everything in the hands of my agents.

Alisson's performances this season have made him one of the most in-demand goalkeepers in Europe, something which will only increase further following the World Cup where he is expected to start for Brazil ahead of Manchester City's Ederson.

Speaking after Brazil 3-0 victory over Austria on Sunday evening, Alisson wants to make a decision before the weekend otherwise it will have to wait until after the World Cup.

'There are many possibilities on which we are working, but always together with Roma and with respect to my club.

You'd imagine the clubs want the same, given what an impressive World Cup can do to a player's valuation.

Alisson claimed 17 clean sheets for Roma in Serie A last term - the second-highest total behind only Napoli's Pepe Reina. We will see what will happen this week'.

Alisson has been strongly touted as a target for the Reds this summer, but Claudio Tafferel, now goalkeeping coach to the national team, has insisted that the 25-year-old is happy at the Italian club as things stand.

"He's a goalkeeper who gives you tranquillity and I'm truly delighted about him". "He's very happy at Roma - truly very, very happy". If he stays at Roma, I'd be very happy.

"If it's not before the first game, it will be after the World Cup, that's my thinking 100 percent", Alisson continued.
