Brazil are certainly one of the top contenders for the title with a team filled with pace and quality.

Neymar scored his second goal in two matches since returning from injury on Sunday, netting with a superb second-half strike as Brazil defeated Austria 3-0 in its final warmup game ahead of the Fifa World Cup finals in Russian Federation.

Tite's side go into the tournament off the back of warm-up wins over Croatia and Austria.

But as the clock ticks down to the opener in Moscow's imposing 80,000-capacity Luzhniki stadium, the tournament is beginning to catch the public mood, with about 3,500 fans attending Australia's training session in the central city of Kazan.

Costa is expected to be a backup for Neymar during the World Cup.

Four years later, playing as hosts under Luiz Felipe Scolari, Brazil were overly dependent on Neymar as they muddled their way through to the semi-finals before losing 7-1 to Germany, when he was injured.

The Barca man laughed off the birthday treatment, in keeping with the high spirits of the Brazilian camp as they head into the World Cup which has seen them go undefeated in their last 11 games.

"When you are always exchanging passes and moving the ball around, it wears the other team down", said Tite.

The team have great balance as well, with Casemiro protecting a solid defence.

His fellow attackers Gabriel Jesus and Coutinho also scored in a match where Brazil dominated Austria that has been on an eight match unbeaten streak.

Neymar started for the first time since recovering from a foot injury that kept him out for three months.

"They've two brilliant goalkeepers, they've got defenders and they have that array of attacking talent with Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and Philippe Coutinho", Owen told the Daily Mail. "His technical and creative ability is fantastic. When we release him in the last third of the field, he's lethal".
